Lumx Demo Day: A Practical Demonstration of International Payments with Stablecoins

A session designed to explore how new financial infrastructures are transforming global payment flows

On March 11, Lumx will host the first edition of Lumx Demo Day, an event designed to present in practical terms how companies are structuring international payments using stablecoins.

The event was created to bridge two dimensions that often appear separately in discussions about financial innovation: concept and implementation. Instead of a theoretical presentation on the topic, Demo Day will be conducted as a guided demonstration of Lumx’s infrastructure, showing how different operational components work together in a real international funds movement flow.

Throughout the session, participants will be able to see how virtual accounts, wallets, FX conversions, and compliance mechanisms integrate into a single infrastructure to enable global operations with greater predictability, control, and efficiency.

Stablecoins and international payments: why the topic has gained relevance

Stablecoins have been consolidating as an operational alternative for moving funds between companies, especially in international flows. These digital assets, typically pegged to strong currencies such as the U.S. dollar, enable direct transfers between participants with fast settlement and reduced reliance on intermediaries.

While traditional methods, such as international bank transfers and correspondent banking networks—remain the foundation of global financial infrastructure, operational differences have led companies to evaluate stablecoins for specific payment flows.

Among the factors driving this movement are:

  • Faster settlement, often completed within minutes

  • Continuous operation, without dependence on banking hours

  • Greater predictability in cash flow

  • Reduced reliance on multiple financial intermediaries

  • Greater visibility into transaction status

According to World Bank data, the global average cost of international transfers remains close to 6%, varying depending on the corridor and intermediaries involved. In certain corporate scenarios, especially in recurring or higher-volume operations, companies have evaluated stablecoin-based infrastructures as a way to reduce operational friction in these flows.

Still, the discussion is not simply about replacing one model with another. In practice, many organizations are exploring hybrid models, using different payment rails depending on the type of operation.

What will be presented at Lumx Demo Day

Lumx Demo Day was structured to show, step by step, how this infrastructure works in practice.

During the demonstration, participants will follow the complete flow of an international transaction within the platform—from integration to payment execution.

Topics covered will include:

  • Integration of the Lumx API with financial products and systems

  • Operation of global pay-ins and payouts using stablecoins

  • How multicurrency virtual accounts, wallets, and FX conversions work

  • How to structure compliance, traceability, and operational controls within a single infrastructure

The objective is to demonstrate how these elements operate in coordination to allow companies to move funds internationally with greater predictability and operational visibility.

Event format

Each Lumx Demo Day session will last approximately 45 minutes and will be conducted in small groups, with up to 10 companies per time slot, allowing for direct interaction, questions, and experience sharing.

Available time slots:

  • 9:00 – 9:45 AM

  • 12:00 – 12:45 PM

  • 6:00 – 6:45 PM

Who should attend

The event is designed for companies and institutions that want to understand more concretely how stablecoin-based infrastructures can be incorporated into international financial flows while maintaining governance, compliance, and integration with existing systems.

Organizations that may benefit from the demonstration include:

  • Fintechs and financial institutions

  • Companies operating recurring international payments
